HELMAR RUDOLPH'S INTRODUCTION TO THE CARDS
Students and teachers of Cardology around the world all know that they aren't called "cards of destiny" for nothing. Whoever they reach, their lives are transformed forever. The same happened to Helmar Rudolph when his moment of truth came in 2013. A Russian friend of his, whose mother had been into Cardology for many years, and practicing out of Vladivostok in the Far East of Russia, said to him: "Helmar, when you read this book, you'll never look at people with the same eyes again." With 'this book' she meant "Love Cards" by Robert Lee Camp.
This introduction set Helmar off a journey deep into the realms of Cardology. "When I first held the book in my hands, I wanted to find out about my own birth card, a 5 of Diamonds, with a Jack of Clubs planetary ruler. If you had given me a green and a red marker pen and asked me to color everything matching in green, and everything not matching in red, on those four pages you wouldn't have found anything in red. And then I thought: if it's that accurate for me, it must be as accurate for others, too. Robert's work has really changed my life."
MORE ABOUT HELMAR RUDOLPH
At 47, Helmar came to Cardology relatively late in life. Previously, he had been a Customer Relationship Management consultant, as well as Database Marketing expert. Helmar travelled the world introducing his holistic business philosophy called "Diamond CRM", which was represented by a diamond-shaped figure. Little did he know at the time (1996) how befitting this was his own birth card.
Authors and Cardologers Edith L. Randall and Florence Evylinn Campbell wrote in their 1947 book, "Sacred Symbols of the Ancients," that the life of 5 of Diamonds people improves significantly after age 45. However, they didn't exactly say why. However, in Cardology, the rebirth happens at this age, and we embark on the second half of our journey through the spreads. For Helmar, it was a watershed moment.
Until 2019, Helmar held regular Master Key System seminars on Mallorca, something he had made 'his own' in 2007 when he did the first German translation of the seminal work by Charles F. Haanel.
After his introduction to Cardology, Helmar mentioned it more and more often at these seminars, and brought Robert Camp's book along. Helmar says, "I did grow tired, though, of having to translate the interpretative texts to my clients, who weren't fluent in English, so something had to be done about it."
LEARNING MORE ABOUT CARDOLOGY
Helmar shares more about his journey, "In order to learn more about Cardology, I bought whatever book I could lay my hands on. Among them were 'The Power of the Playing Cards' by Crawford/Sullivan, 'The Mystic Test Book' by Olney Richmond, which in large parts is still a mystery to me, Guilhem's book (in French), 'Cards of Destiny' by Robert Camp, the spreads book by Gina E. Jones, several books by Sharon Jeffers, as well as 'The New Game' by Daliah Boretski. In addition, I visited countless cardology-related websites."
Helmar recounts one of the challenges, "For some reason, though, a subject of relative prominence in the English-speaking world, mainly the United States, had thus far largely escaped the attention of the German-speaking market. To this day, there's not a single German translation available of any book published in English."
GERMAN CONTACTS FRENCHMAN TO LEARN MORE
As Helmar's journey to learn more about Cardology continued, Helmar contacted Guilhem Morera, a well-known Master Cardologer from France, to book a consulting session. Guilhem (Three of Diamonds♦) not only provided Helmar with additional cardological insight, but also explained how what authors of "Sacred Symbols of the Ancients" call the "spiritual spread" is quadrated to create what they refer to as the "mundane spread."
Now knowing how the system of Cardology and how quadration work, Helmar decided to create his own web app in July 2018, called Sacred Symbols - a homage to Randall and Campbell's book, "Sacred Symbols of the Ancients." In October of the same year, the web app went live, and introduced German-speaking people to this ancient and proven system. Helmar shares, "You'll actually be surprised how deeply card-related sayings are engrained in the German language, yet no one really knows about their true meaning and significance."

MAKING CARDOLOGY POPULAR IN GERMANY AND BEYOND
In today's technologically advanced communications world, one of the best ways to make Cardology more popular is obviously with mobile phones, with billions of devices in active use worldwide. While Helmar's web app provided a first point of entry, it had major downsides. As destiny would have it, and unbeknownst to Helmar, in the near distant future, his mobile phone app would soon solve all those issues.
In May 2024, while busy improving the interaction on his website sacredsymbols.de, Helmar was told by a programmer friend that he could use his own code in conjunction with a specific wrapper to create a hybrid mobile app for both iOS and Android. Helmar shares, "I then switched from web to mobile development, and by the end of 2024, the app had reached a stage where it was ready for launch. On New Year's Eve, I submitted it to both Google Play and the App Store. Google approved it immediately. Apple took a little longer with its review process, but as of January 18 the app is available there, too."
MUCH MORE TO COME...
Helmar says that "this is only the beginning. There are so many things still in the pipeline. Over time, the app will find its rightful place on hundreds of millions of phones, helping and guiding people through life, and making Cardology the people's primary source of life advice." Currently, the app is already available in four languages with more languages to be added.
